Divine Love & God’s Presence: A Heart-Centered Meditation

Settle into a quiet, comfy space.

Rest your eyes and allow your body to become still. Let your hands rest gently by your side. Let your breath soften.

With each inhale, receive the peace of God.

With each exhale, release any burdens or cares.

In this moment, you are not striving, you are not seeking. You are simply becoming aware of what is already here - God’s presence.

Scripture reminds us in Psalm 46 to “Be still, and know that I am God.”

In this stillness, see if you can realize the vibrations of your body, a lightly buzzing energy that’s been with you since before your time. It’s your very life force—calling your heart to remember Divine Love.

Divine Love is not distant, it is not earned, nor withheld.

It is constant and faithful. It is here.

Now bring your awareness to your heart center. Notice the gentle rise and fall of your breath.

If there is tension, breath through it.

If there is heaviness, imagine that feeling becoming the fuzzy, white “wishes” of a dandelion in seed. Let all the tension and heaviness blow away with a purposeful exhale – all the way out.

Inhale the peace of God.

Exhale and release any fears or anxieties.

You do not have to carry anything alone.

In 1 John, we are told that God is love.

Not that He gives love.

Not that He understands love.

But that He IS love.

Let the truth of that settle into your heart.

Imagine waves of energy, of Divine Love flowing through your chest…softening old defenses…quieting anxious thoughts…washing away feelings of unworthiness.

You are fully seen, fully known, fully loved.

If your mind begins to wander, gently return to the awareness that God is here.

Right now.

Closer than your breath.

In this presence, there is safety.

In this love, there is peace.

Let yourself receive without effort.

Let yourself be held without striving.

In the quiet of this moment, listen.

Sometimes God speaks in whispers.

Sometimes He speaks in stillness.

Sometimes His presence is the message.

Breathe in Divine Love.

Breathe out surrender.

Now, slowly begin to open your eyes. Gently moving your joints, stretching a bit.

As you move back into your day, your evening, time with friends and family, enjoying a good meal, remain in the awareness that you are surrounded, sustained, and embraced by God’s presence.
